MD-Journal's editor speaks Markdown, highlighted as you type, with a full preview when you want to see the finished entry. Everything is encrypted on the device before it goes anywhere, the iCloud backup included, and biometrics or a PIN stand between the app and whoever is holding the phone.

Markdown editor with preview
You write in the same Markdown you use for notes and README files. Syntax is highlighted as you type, and the preview renders the entry when you want to check the formatting.
Encrypted before it syncs
Entries are encrypted on the device, and the iCloud backup keeps them encrypted. Biometrics or a PIN guard the app itself. Deleted entries sit in a trash bin, so a mis-tap isn't final.
Three view modes
Summary mode scans many entries at once and card mode slows the same thing down. Calendar mode handles the days you can date but cannot name. Search runs across all three when you only remember a word.
Prompts when you're stuck
A hundred questions sit inside the app for the nights when nothing comes. Answer one, or ignore them and write what you were going to write.
A paper look
The August 2026 update rebuilt the interface around a handwritten, paper feel and carried it through the timeline, the calendar and Insights. More than ten color themes and a set of fonts if that default isn't your taste.
